Planners/Presiders: Please send copies of your worship services to Eldora Engebretson (firstname.lastname@example.org) , Heather (email@example.com), and the person scheduled to do your PowerPoint (check the schedule) as soon as possible. This is especially important if you are doing new hymns that are not as familiar to the congregation.
Do you want communion brought to your home? If yes, please contact Dulcy Silverthorn to make arrangements for that to happen – see directory for contact info.
A Friendly Message from your Worship Committee: As we get into the summer months, the people available to assist with Sunday Morning Worship is getting very slim. If you are interested in planning, presiding or speaking for a worship service, please let someone on the worship committee know (Wanda, Carol Mair, Madelyn, Kevin, Amber or Heather). And now a few words about planning/presiding in June, July and August: Due to the lack of people available, please keep in mind the following “tips” –
1) Be aware of your “standing” hymns and how long they are so you can give the congregation plenty of time to stand before they have to start singing.
2) Please try to schedule as few people as possible up front so there will be people in the congregation.
3) Remember, you can always have the receiving of the offertory as we exit the service to help with the number of people you need to use for your service.
4) If you are planning a Communion Service, please consider using only 2 servers – it will take just a bit longer in the service, but it will help minimize waste of grape juice and bread.
Because we are called to “Let nothing separate you from this mission. It reveals divine intent for personal, societal, and environmental salvation; a fullness of gospel witness for creation’s restoration”, we now have a blue recycle bin at the church. Thank you to Mary and Amy Ragland for the donation of the bin. Please try to remember to place all recyclable materials in the blue bin. Don’t have recycling pick-up in your neighborhood? Save your recyclables and bring the on Sundays – drop them in the blue bin and we will take care of it for you. Not sure what can and cannot be recycled – here is a handy one page flyer from the City of Phoenix. This will also be posted at the church.
