Planners/Presiders: Please send copies of your worship services to Eldora Engebretson (elnjoeng@cox.net) , Heather (heather.featherstone1972@gmail.com), and the person scheduled to do your PowerPoint (check the schedule) as soon as possible. This is especially important if you are doing new hymns that are not as familiar to the congregation.
Effective July 1, 2016 due to World Church budget cuts congregations will be paying for their tithing envelopes. Please let Carrol McCans know if you want to continue getting your envelopes or sign up for e- Tithing. The cost of envelopes is $5.40 a year per family. We will need to include this expense in the budget. Thanks.
Just a note on the e-tithing (as far as I know): Thunderbird West is not set up to take your tithing electronically, so if you sign up for e-tithing, any funds you designate will go to World Church. Since we are called to give equally to both world-wide and local mission tithes, you will still need to contribute locally as you have done in the past through your envelope or other methods.
In an effort to clear some space for a future project, the facilities and worship committees invite you “help yourself†to any of the old hymnals that are now located on the short pew in the fellowship area. Please take what you wish. Anything not claimed by August 7 will be donated to Goodwill. Thank you in advance!
Heather is looking for people that have a sewing machine or are pretty good with a needle and thread (or knitting/crochet). She is in need of people that are willing to put together shoulder bags for the Manna Bag project at the end of August. Homemade, reusable bags are a nicer gift than a Ziploc baggie of goodies. Please see Heather for patterns and/or materials (she has some scrap material and LOTS of yarn) if you are interested in donating your time to this project.
Sunday, August 28 during worship service: Manna Bags are coming. Here (http://tinyurl.com/hacfc4d) is a list of things we need for the manna bags. There will be bins in the fellowship hall to place your donations in – check around the building for take-away lists if you can’t print it from here. We are also looking for people to sew/crochet shoulder bags. Heather has a simple pattern you can use or find a pattern of your own.
