Announcements

New announcements are purple

Planners/Presiders: Please send copies of your worship services to Eldora Engebretson (elnjoeng@cox.net) , Heather (heather.featherstone1972@gmail.com), and the person scheduled to do your PowerPoint (check the schedule) as soon as possible. This is especially important if you are doing new hymns that are not as familiar to the congregation.

Heather Featherstone will be traveling through the month of June. If you want something printed in the weekly email announcements (and therefore in the bulletin), you MUST send any announcements to the church email address: thunderbirdwest.cofchrist@gmail.com. If you send announcements to any other address, they may not been seen in time to get into the announcements. If you make an announcement during Sunday morning worship, please remember to send it to the church email address as well.

Holli is looking for volunteers to teach the summer multi-age children/youth Sunday School classes. Lesson plans will be provided. The first summer class begins on May 29. Please contact Holli if you are willing to help out this summer.

Do you want communion brought to your home? If yes, please contact Dulcy Silverthorn to make arrangements for that to happen – see directory for contact info.

A Friendly Message from your Worship Committee: As we get into the summer months, the people available to assist with Sunday Morning Worship is getting very slim. If you are interested in planning, presiding or speaking for a worship service, please let someone on the worship committee know (Wanda, Carol Mair, Madelyn, Kevin, Amber or Heather). And now a few words about planning/presiding in June, July and August: Due to the lack of people available, please keep in mind the following “tips” –
1) Be aware of your “standing” hymns and how long they are so you can give the congregation plenty of time to stand before they have to start singing.
2) Please try to schedule as few people as possible up front so there will be people in the congregation.
3) Remember, you can always have the receiving of the offertory as we exit the service to help with the number of people you need to use for your service.
4) If you are planning a Communion Service, please consider using only 2 servers – it will take just a bit longer in the service, but it will help minimize waste of grape juice and bread.
