Halloween Rest Stop is just around the corner. Kyle and Carla are looking for candy and baked goods donations as well as volunteers to help set up, run and tear down for the event.
Diane Sloan is in search of Blessing Bags stories – stories of your experiences with our Blessing Bag project for the service she is planning on October 16. Please write up a short experience story and either email it to her at sasdms@aol.com or give it to her at church.
Alyssa Brittan is selling candy bars to assist her dance troupe. Only $1 each!
The Walking Club meets on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 6:00pm. We will walk in Eldora’s neighborhood this week and discuss where we will meet next week. Sunday, October 16 – Adult Sunday School Class is starting a new book study. The book is called “The Road Less Traveled†by M. Scott Peck (I think). This class will be team taught by Dulcy Silverthorn and Gabriel Horne.
October 21 & 22 – “Building an Inclusive Church†The Building an Inclusive Church trainings help you design and implement a process for your congregation to publicly and intentionally welcoming people of all sexual orientations and gender identities and expressions. Building an Inclusive Church equips you with ways to create dialogue – deepening relationships throughout the congregation rather than sparking debate and division. Saturday, October 22 at 4:00pm – Youth Event: Pumpkin days and Corn Maze festival at Tolmachoff Farms, 5726 N 75th Ave. Glendale. Meet at the farm entrance, bring a friend. All youth 2-18 are invited (parents can come too). Contact Holli or Luis for more info.
Saturday, October 22, 2:00pm @ TBW – Celebration of Life for Katherine Ramey. Contact Beth Richardson if you can help with the reception (cookies etc.)
Sunday, October 23, 11:45am (after church) – “Welcome Baby Girl West†baby shower. All are invited to attend. A light lunch will be provided. The West’s are registered at Target – http://tinyurl.com/gsvyb8s. Please RSVP to Mary (632-974-8589) or Eldora (632-566-9299) so we can have enough food for everyone.
Sunday, October 30, 9:30am – Budget meeting – we will vote on the budget and a few other items. Please pray about the possibility of working toward a congregational blessing. This would require a commitment from members of the congregation in the preparation (not sure exactly what this would entail, still waiting for some details). Also, please prayerfully consider supporting a food pantry for the neighborhood out of TBW.
Sunday, November 12, after church – Thanksgiving Meal. Please see the sign up on the board by the kitchen. We need cooks, “set-upersâ€, and “tear-downersâ€.
Saturday, December 20, 4:30-6:30 pm, at the church – Dinner Theater presented by the youth. You are invited to bring your own talents to share as well – tell a joke, read/write a poem, sing, dance, do cartwheels or whatever you consider a talent ïŠ
