Take the tag, purchase it, and bring it to church and drop in the big green bucket under the bulletin board. Don’t have time or desire to shop? You can give Heather the money and what you want to get, and she’ll do the shopping for you.

April 21-23 @ Whispering Pines – Mission Center Retreat. “Safety, Survival, and Spirituality in 2017 and Beyond” Plan to attend. There will be time for you to get back to the valley for the Youth Worker Training. Contact the Mission Center for more info.

This class will be followed by the Child/Youth Worker Core Training from 3:30-5:00pm – All priesthood members and anyone working with Children and Youth are required to have this class. If you are unsure if you have taken these classes please check with any of the pastorate to see which class(es) you might need.

Saturday, May 6, 2017, 10am-4:30 pm@ TBW – Priesthood and Discipleship Formation Day Theme: Cultivating the Soil. Guest Ministry: Apostle Ron Harmon and Field Support Minister Bill McFarlin. Plan on spending the day with fellow disciples as we explore what it means to cultivate the soil for mission in today’s context. We will share together in worship, learning, and fellowship as a way to grow in our discipleship. Join us for the day.

Beginning Sunday, April 9, will be the adult class will study the book, Speak to The Bones (How to Be a Prophetic people in a Time of Exile, by Richard A. Brown. The book is available through Amazon.com. Richard Brown is a graduate of the University of Missouri and Park College, with degrees in Journalism and a Masters of Religion. He served as an editor for Herald House Publishing for 23 years and as managing editor for the Herald magazine. In the book, he addresses the problem of falling church attendance, which he attributes to a lack of prophetic ministry. In lessons on God’s prophets throughout history, he tries to answer the questions, what is a prophet called to do, and how we as a prophetic people are to answer that call? Dulcy Silverthorn will lead the class and invites you to take part in what promises to be an interesting way to approach our 21st century church.

Sunday, April 16, after services – Youth Easter Egg Hunt. Please bring eggs filled with treats (no melty stuff like chocolate or marshmallows) for the Easter bunny to hide for our youth. Donations can be dropped off in the pastor’s study (due to the brunch the same morning, please don’t leave your donations in the kitchen). See Kevin or Robyn Harper for more information.

Class room cabinets cleaned out and organized, storage rooms organized and inventoried, kitchen inventory, flooring in attic and wall repairs will be done.

Sunday, February 26, 2:00pm, at the church – Sigma Alpha Iota Phoenix Alumnae Chapter (Heather’s music group) invites you to attend our annual Silver Tea Musicale Recital. This performance is open to all, so bring a friend with you. A free-will donation will be accepted to help us meet our financial goals for the year. No one has been disappointed yet – it’s well worth the hour or so – promise.

Saturday, February 18, 7:00-8:30 pm @ Phx Central – Storytellers Event to kick off Winter Reunion. Our own Kevin Harper will be sharing stories of his early family experience with the church as well as Barb Walden and Tom Morain. A donation opportunity for the Alma Blair Internship Program will be available for those interested in supporting this unique educational opportunity for young adults.

February 19-24: Winter Reunion at Phoenix Central. Guest Ministers: Apostle Robin Linkhart; Tom Morain, Historic Sites Foundation; Larry McGuire, AZ Mission Center President. Theme: Fully Awake and Ready to Respond. Registration forms are available on the bulletin board.

Monday, February 20, Phoenix Central: Youth sponsored lunch fundraiser. Youth are asked to be at Phoenix Central by 10:30 and plan to stay until about 1:30 to help prepare, serve and clean up after lunch.
